Asking God for Rain

Ammi, this grief is burning me alive, I have tried running from it, but it won’t leave me alone, so I pray to God for rain to free myself from it.

Ammi, it was your birthday last month, I tried finding all your birthday pictures from last years, there weren’t many, but I remember we celebrated your birthdays, I don’t know where all the memories went.

Ammi, I want to talk to you, instead I have talk about you now, but there’s no one to listen, so I talk to myself now.

Ammi, people have moved on, they believe we have too, but I want to ask them, how can you move on from your own mother??

Ammi, Everything reminds me of you; the plants, crocheting, tangerines, baking, my dresses ,and it burns me alive, but I have asked God to free myself from it.

But the sun’s out, the skies are clear, and there’s no sign of rain, What do I do Ammi?, What do I do??

Can you please ask God for rain. Please!
